Cesc Fabregas is officially a Barcelona player after signing a five-year contract this afternoon, announced the Catalan club. Eight years after his departure, the Spaniardthen found his training club after spending two successful medical.
Barca said the player "go home" but does not mention the actual amount of the transaction.
Fabregas, 24, who signed the contract with the President of FC Barcelona SandroRosell, returns to a club he left at age 16 in 2003.
"I finally returned home," said the player during his presentation Monday to theCatalan club's supporters.
In its statement, FC Barcelona also indicated that the contract would be protected bya "transfer clause of € 200 million" in case of early termination.
The amount paid by FC Barcelona to return to the club's child prodigy is estimated at40 million euros. But in statements to the Catalan daily Sport, Sandro Rosell has stated that Barca had paid 29 million euros and not 40.
