Pakistan is investigating the circumstances of Bin Laden on its soil
Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani that the investigation was being conductedinto the circumstances and the presence of Osama bin Laden in the city of IslamabadOept Pakistani territory.
He denied that any party inside or outside the Pakistani government was involved in concealing the Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden inside Pakistan's territory, or were cooperating with al Qaeda.
He said in a keynote speech delivered today before the Pakistani parliament that his government's confidence in its army and intelligence will not allow anymore any state to bring charges of dereliction of ISI.
Gilani said that Pakistan were not the birthplace of al-Qaida, and asked who is responsible for the emergence of this organization and create a myth of Osama bin Laden, in an allusion to the United States, which had already armed the Mujahideen in Afghanistan to resist the Soviet occupation there.
However, he stressed that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the United States, a relationship described by Gilani as based on cooperation and mutual trust, and added that his Government was also engaged at the same time in the process of multilateral dialogue with various major powers in the world.
Gilani warned that any unilateral process in the future, such as those carried out by U.S. Special Forces to kill Osama bin Laden, it will have serious repercussions.
But Gilani at the same time said that al Qaeda had declared war on Pakistan and the death of its leader Osama bin Laden is a victory in the war on terrorism, and vowed that his government will not allow any way to be Pakistani territory as a springboard for any terrorist act carried out by any entity or person against any country.
Gilani has denied the rumors about the existence of internal disagreements in the Pakistani government, adding that the investigation in the broader issue of Bin Laden on Pakistani soil will be under the supervision of Pakistan's army chief.
